Week 15 at School

Happy anniversary to Denise and me - 31 years.  As they say you don't even get that long for murder.

Friday night we went out to listen to one of the volunteers playing/singing at a restaurant in Arusha.  What a great night it was.

For those reading the online blog, there is more if you click on the Read more>> button below.

Denise has been laid low this week after going out for our anniversary dinner.  Not sure what it was, but she is getting better now.

For those who haven't heard, below is a note sent to St Jude's volunteers last week.
Each year, we launch a fundraising appeal asking for donations from overseas supporters.  We’re really excited to let you know about the outcome of our Every Piece Counts Annual Appeal!

The appeal officially finished yesterday and it was a great success.  With the money raised, we are now able to purchase and build all the appeal items we needed.

Items that can now be funded include; new land at Moshono, FOUR new buses, water heaters… to name a few.  Our boarding houses at Smith are being built, and our carpenters are busy making more tables and chairs.  These are all a result of the generosity of people from around the world who have given generously to St Jude’s in this appeal.

We’d like to say a big thank you to every single one of you, who played a role in making the appeal so successful and for all those who continue to tell people about the wonderful work our school continues to achieve.  Every single one of us, is involved in helping St Jude’s in a variety of ways and it all counts!

I know some of you have already supported St Jude's in some way shape or form, including four wonderful ladies giving up their parents for a year - thanks.  Thank you for your support and may it continue well after we finish.

Now to a sad note. Pole (sorry)
It is with a heavy heart, shaky hands and some tears that I write this blog.  This morning I read of the passing of a close friend.  Graeme was one of the gentlemen of this world, he was a friend, confidant, colleague and mate.  I know many will miss him.

Denise and I would so dearly love to be back home now to be there for Judy, but understand the commitment we made before leaving.

Until next time.
